One of Benjamin and Victoria's favorite books is The Little Mouse, the Red Ripe Strawberry, and the Big Hungry Bear. It is a cute story about a little mouse who is going to pick a strawberry, but finds out that a big hungry bear loves strawberries too and can smell them from "a mile away." The mouse hears the bear coming and tries to hide, guard, and disguise it, but knows that the bear will find it. In order to save the strawberry, he shares half with the reader and eats it all up. The illustrations are great and Benjamin and Victoria both love it.
Benjamin is in a stage where he quotes things all the time. He is constantly singing songs and repeating stories. The other morning before Victoria was up, Benjamin started quoting this book while eating some strawberries. While Benjamin and I quoted the story, we pretended that he was the mouse and that there was a big hungry bear coming to get his strawberry.
Here is our disguised strawberry. In the book, the mouse and strawberry both have the silly glasses with a nose and mustache...this was the best we could do.
